Pioneer Valley Jazz Festival with Aaron Shragge, Whispering Worlds
Whispering Worlds seamlessly integrates looping/live processing/sampling with the compelling melodic development found in Raga and the music of the shakuhachi. The quartet’s debut performance paid homage to Jon Hassell at Festival of New Trumpet Music in NY drawing praise from artistic director/trumpeter Dave Douglas: “Delving deeply into the sonic and spiritual worlds of Hassell’s work, Aaron Shragge presents a deeply felt homage to the trumpeter and composer. This meditative set demonstrated focus and passion, with beautiful and precise playing. A fantastic vision of what the trumpet can do and be..."

P.M.A. - drums and percussion
This is an exquisite quartet of flute, harp, piano, percussion and electronics that gathers four free thinking improvisers of jazz, experimental and chamber music from the portuguese and north american scene. P.M.A. first saw Jacqueliine Kerrod live back in 2018, when playing in duo with Anthony Braxton. From there he invited her to a duo recording in 2019 and to a quartet concert which also featured João Grilo on the piano. So this strings and percussion trio is now welcoming Elsa Nilsson, the swedish/north american flutist, with whom P.M.A. had a Portugal summer tour last year, featuring André B. Silva, John O'Gallagher and Martin Sued.
The four musicians share a common background of jazz and classical music training and a career that has been aiming to unknown, exploratory destinations.
